Goulds Lagoon

 

Goulds Lagoon is a shallow brackish lake on the western outskirts of Hobart. The Lagoon is a refuge and feeding area for waterfowl and other marsh birds, all of which can be viewed with comparative ease from the walkway and hide.
A diverse amount of bird species are attracted to the lagoon, including Black Swans, Pelicans, Black Ducks, Chestnut Teals, Purple Swamphens, Egrets, White-faced Herons and Cormorants. Vagrant species, such as Australasian Shovellers, Pink-eared Ducks and Freckled Ducks visit occasionally.
