Coningham Cliff Top Walk

Approximate Time: About 1 hour to Legacy Beach return or 2 hours to the southern carpark return.
Distance: 3.8km Coningham Beach to Legacy Beach. 2.4km Legacy Beach to southern carpark.

The stairs next to the boat sheds at the southern end of Coningham Beach lead to this beautiful bushland walk along the sandstone cliffs of Coningham. There are spectacular views across North West Bay to Mount Wellington, Tinderbox and Bruny Island.

The track is well marked and maintained with plenty of timber rest benches along the way. The steps and handrails are in excellent condition. In places, an older track is visible closer to the cliff face, but walkers are advised to stay on the formed track as the cliff edge is unstable.

From Legacy Beach, the track continues south for an additional 2.4km to a carpark that is now closed to public traffic. This part of the track is a little rougher underfoot and there are no rest benches, but the track is still clearly formed and maintained.
