Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

Bonorong is a sanctuary for injured and orphaned wildlife and is one of the best places to see Tasmania’s native animals, such as the iconic Tasmanian Devil. Bonorong is also home to wombats, quolls, kangaroos, koalas, possums, reptiles and several native bird species.

Wildlife tours are conducted daily by experienced keepers who provide wildlife interpretation with a strong conservation message. Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary also runs a 24/7 hotline and a rehabilitation service for orphaned and injured wildlife, via a network of volunteers.

Facilities at the sanctuary include a gift shop and café.

Bonorong, just a short drive from Hobart, is located at 593 Briggs Road in Brighton, about 30km north of Hobart. The sanctuary is open from 9am to 5pm every day (except Christmas Day). Please see their website for tour times and more details.
