Peter Murrell Reserves
The Peter Murrell Reserves near Kingston, comprise the Peter Murrell State Reserve, the Peter Murrell Conservation Area (135ha) and a Public Reserve. Together, they occupy an area of 277ha that is managed by Tasmania’s Parks and Wildlife Service.
The Peter Murrell reserves provides a variety of tracks to cater for different users. Dog walking, cycling and horse riding are permitted on certain tracks and there are also nature trails exclusively for walkers. The terrain is sandy and mainly flat.
The reserve is renown for its birdlife and wildflowers, including more than 35 orchid species.
